This a commission from Etsy, not for sale. Client wanted me to make a dragoness in these colors, but they left her design on me and I definitely enjoyed working on this doll! I also make this kind of wings for the first time since I prefer making feathered wings more.
Made of super sculpey, thermoplastic , faux fur, feathers, fabric, wire+plastic armature, primer, acrylic paint, varnish. Its horns/claws/spikes are made of unbreakable plastic so they are very solid. Its neck has a plastic ball and socket armature inside so it can turn his head. The tail and wings have wire armature inside and posable.

Several people call it the uncanny valley of kinks and I gotta agree. You’re not sure what someone was going for and it might be entirely tame but its done with such indulgence that you can never be sure and in that moment of doubt springs the sensation of off-ness.

Research vaccines and you will discover long lists of toxic poisons which are ingredients of many vaccines. You will find that the mainstream ‘history of vaccines’ that we are fed, is laden with falsehood. You will find that the number of vaccines forced upon children has increased exponentially. You will find that many doctors and scientists who have proven how harmful vaccines are have been murdered (and labelled ‘suicide’). You will find a great many things that will indicate to you that your blind, adoring trust and faith in the pharmaceutical industry, the medical profession, and mainstream academia is totally fucking unjustified and that if you put these poisons in your body, you are doing so with the possibility of great peril to you and your children. You will find that many vaccination campaigns led by Bill Gates in developing countries have resulted in widespread deaths, from a majority of those vaccinated.
Sorry, but people who refuse to do any real research into this, beyond the smoke and mirrors designed to get the entire population pumping themselves full of fucking mercury and formaldehyde (etc), and see the globalists nefarious and sick agenda really make me sick.
Indigenous communities which have been sustainably hunting animals for years for survival is obviously not leading to the endangerment of those animals. It’s when corporations involve themselves in the trade of hunting animals for mass production of goods that causes severe damage to the sustainability of arctic wildlife. Activism and protests should be directed to those establishments and not indigenous communities that are clearly not contributing to the decline of Arctic wildlife.
If Indigenous communities were the really the cause of endangered species, then the animals would have been extinct along before colonization.

And that’s why I say fuck white vegans, especially celebrity white vegans, who try to outlaw shit like seal hunting in the arctic at the cost of starving and freezing Indigenous people who depend on that for survival. They’d seriously let entire communities of people die if it means saving the fucking seals.

It’s 100% true that indigenous people managed their resources sustainably before white colonizers came in a screwed everything up–sometimes deliberately, like they did with bison in 19th century US. And that specific arctic seal population everyone always talks about is 100% robust enough to withstand managed hunting, and is only a flashpoint because white animal rights activists don’t have to live off seal meat and furs.
But conflating those facts with this idea that indigenous people always lived in blissful harmony with nature is…problematic. And I say problematic because that idea is rooted in noble savage myths, the idea that indigenous society was ‘primitive’, and this weird idea that indigenous people are magical Ferngully fairies or something. Like, they built complex civilizations. Cities, agriculture, irrigation, massive altering of wilderness landscapes to suit their needs, etc. (It’s the same thing as when people paint history as if all poc were happy fey folk, and whites are the sole proprietors of injustice. I totally get the impulse–since white supremacy is global–but it ultimately infantilizes other civilizations, and masks injustice/genocide/exploitation done by poc to other poc.)
For starters, it’s fairly well-accepted that humans were a contributing factor in the mass extinctions of mega-fauna ~10,000 years ago. Climate change was also a factor, but there’s a reason why the only continent that still has an extensive population of megafauna is Africa (it’s because those animals evolved alongside humans as predators, so had some measure of evolutionary defense against them). We see in the archaeological and paleontological records that as humans spread from Africa, mass extinction followed. It’s less pronounced in sub-saharan Africa and Eurasia. It’s most pronounced in Australia and the Americas, because those were the last places homo sapiens reached, and the animals there (who were likely already in a bad place due to climate change) had no idea what was coming.
But you don’t have to go way back into pre-history to see this. Indigenous people have overharvested certain resources, altered ecological processes, introduced invasive species and hunted species to extinction. The Polynesians hunted several bird species to extinction, like the Moa, a flightless bird which was hunted in all its life cycles (eggs and adults) and disappeared rapidly once Polynesians reached New Zealand.
Any discussion of conservation issues benefits from acknowledging the complexities of addressing human needs with maintaining a functioning ecosystem. And sometimes these issues are just extremely difficult all the way around. There are local people today who regularly hunt endangered species for bushmeat. Like, it is equally true that certain wild populations can not sustain current harvest levels, and the people harvesting them absolutely need to harvest them to survive. There isn’t always an easy way out.
Was having a quiet morning enjoying the bird song before I go back to my field site when I remembered that someone on here said the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs also killed all the prehistoric giant mammals, and that indigenous people (not just early hominids) were also there for it.
