Have you ever seen a pregnant bat skeleton?? This incredible articulation of mother and fetus was just completed for the Prehistoria Natural History Centre (#PNHC) by Toby (@tobia5_b0ch), our in-house articulator!

Bizarrely enough, bat fetuses typically develop horizontal (transverse) in their wombs, unlike our typically vertical development.

Though not the most “invisible” technique, we opted for a wire cradle to support to embryonic animal in the articulation, to allow for future removal and study. (at Prehistoria)
