A thing worth knowing for anyone interested in jumping to pillowfort.
1. Creating posts/communities/etc. for the purpose of spreading accusations or condemnation
of other Pillowfort users (if a user has done something worthy of being removed from the site,
they should be flagged for moderator attention– trying to bring the user community against
them is not allowed);
2. Expressing a wish for harm to come to another Pillowfort user, including encouraging a user
to harm themselves;
3. Releasing the personal information of (i.e. “doxxing”) any individual, including people that are
not site users and whose personal information is not a matter of public record;
4. Posting sexual, violent, or otherwise offensive content, persistently and in an unrelated
community or tag (i.e. ‘spamming’) with the intent to offend and disturb other users;
5. Using derogatory and insulting language to disparage another user’s racial, religious, gender,
or sexual identity, or mental or physical disability or condition; or to disparage the general
idea of these identities or conditions
… and then it goes on to more standard things: no breaking the law; no stalking; no interfering with the service itself, and so on.
In practice, this has been hazy. It doesn’t have the vicious flamewars that Tumblr has; I’m less sure that that’s because of the policies than the fact that there is no anon posting on Pillowfort. Other details: Posters can always edit or delete their posts, and delete comments on their posts. (Just like LJ/DW.)
Communities exist; the features fairly limited right now. They’re missing a lot of search capabilities; it’s hard to find the people or comms that you might be interested in.
tl;dr short version:
New social media site. Wants to fix what’s wrong with Tumblr. Has a few innovative features; some still have bugs. May become an awesome place in the future; is not going to be what saves fandom from Tumblr anytime soon.
They might still be down for security reasons but more info on pillowfort.
Straight out of a cliche horror movie I couldn’t resist combining a green Tritium tube into my version of a hypodermic syringe. Unlike glow in the dark pigment, Tritium glows continuously without the need for “charging” from another light source. It’s harmless to humans and used in many applications that require illumination like watches and gun sights. I’ve been using it in designs for over a year now and I’m yet to grow another arm or mutate – damn it….
Update: Etsy in their wisdom have decided I can’t sell my Tritium designs. I don’t agree with their decision but while I play in their sandbox I have to play by their rules. So if you are interested in one of my Tritium pieces please contact me. This piece is US $165 plus $7 flat rate shipping.
this reopens the ages old pokemon debate “is it ethical to catch a mr.mime? is mr.mime just a guy?”
No no, it’s okay. Surely it’s just some kind of weird consensual thing? Because there’s a scene later where Mr. Mime is resting his hand on Ash’s mom’s thigh. Clearly they’re together and he just enjoys this.
