Attn people in the US who are not undocumented:

If you live in New York City or San Francisco, please look into the city ID that anyone can get regardless of immigration status. The problem is that if people who cannot get a state/federal ID are the only ones using those IDs, it becomes just another easy way to identify undocumented people.

If you live in a different city that is a sanctuary city, look into it to see if your city has a program like this.

So if you can, get an ID like this (even if you already have a different ID) and use it when you need to show ID, in order to normalise it and so that it isn’t only undocumented people using it. Put your immigration status privilege to work.

If you think of asexual as “not having a sex drive,” then you’d probably be surprised to learn that aces used to be a part of the bi community.

But if you think of it as “not having a sexual orientation,” then it might suddenly become clear.

Because in a world where so many people only ever think of, or mention, “gay or straight” as possible orientations, there’s not that much difference between “not having a sexual orientation” and “not being either gay or straight.”

When the question is only framed as “which of these opposite points does your arrow point to,” I don’t feel like there’s a huge difference between your answer being “point???????” or “arrow???????”

I THINK I MADE MY POINT

Somebody got murdered at my old workplace a couple weeks ago. They were fighting over a football game. If I hadn’t quit my job, I might have witnessed a murder.

I was discussing this with a coworker today that I’ve always been kinda work friends with. She told me about how in her old neighborhood she saw someone get murdered over drugs. It was the first time she’d ever seen a dead body in person before. But then she told me about how her neighborhood used to be a nice place when it was only white people living there, but then it all went downhill when black people started moving in. It was a really unpleasant conversation.

Finding out co-workers you’re on friendly terms with are bigots is the worst. One of my old assistant managers, who was my weed connection and one of the few people at work who was cool about me being trans (she didn’t understand it, but was open-minded to learning and stuck up for me) once started talking about how she moved in part due to “all the Hispanics ruining the neighborhood”..even if I weren’t white-passing Puerto Rican, Uncomfortable As Fuck.
